FCPS Programs
Fort Collins Preschool is a unique parent-involved preschool with families working together in a professionally guided preschool program. Under the guidance of the teacher/director, parents are trained and participate in the classroom approximately twice monthly. We offer programs for children ages two through pre-kindergarten.
We offer classes for 2 - 5 year olds:
(2 year olds)
Fort Collins Preschool’s 2-Year-Old Parent Tot class offers a positive and reassuring environment where children are able to explore, experience, and interact with peers while having the security of their parent being close by.
(3 year olds)
In many cases, this will be the child’s first experience with being away from home in a school setting. It is important that the experience be positive and growth-producing for children and parents alike. Our supportive environment will encourage social growth in your 3-year-old child.
(4 year olds)
Your 4-year-old child’s natural desire to learn and increasing need to develop friendships will bloom and grow in our Pre-Kindergarten class. Our family-oriented group setting allows for many individual and group relationships that often involve parents and entire families as well as our own preschool children.
(5 year olds)
Junior Kindergarten curriculum promotes early literacy with more emphasis on concepts in print, phonemic awareness and letter recognition. There are increased opportunities to develop and enhance math skills. (Students must be 5 by December 31 of the year enrolled.)
Additional Programs:
We believe skills learned by participating in art and music transfer to communication skills, study skills and cognitive skills. An education in the arts helps children pass from school into the world of work and community.
Extended Day Classes (additional offerings)
Fort Collins Preschool offers several extended day classes throughout the school year. Dates and times depend upon the school year, typically extended day classes are held on Mondays or Wednesdays from noon to 3 pm.
